The elections for the National Assembly in Kuwait began with the election of its deputies for the year 2023. Of the 207 candidates, 50 members, including 13 women, were elected by the Kuwaiti people for the third time in two and a half years. Voting started at 8:00 am and will last 12 hours. After the elections, the counting of votes will begin, and the winners will represent the Kuwaitis for the next four years. These are the seventeenth elections for the Kuwaiti National Assembly, and they will be held in 759 polling centers, in which 800,000 voters will participate. The number of candidates competing is the lowest in more than fifty years. These elections were called after the 2020 and 2022 parliaments were dissolved, and the Constitutional Court ruled last March that the elections held last September were invalid.
